Oyster catcher eggs in a nest

On a flat roof near to Knockendarroch Hotel we have been watching a pair of Oyster catchers set up a nest. They come back year after year to the same spot. It seems to be an ideal environment for them. They use the gravel from the roof to make the nest and the elevated position seems to keep them relatively safe from predators.┬áThis year they produced three eggs which you can see in the photo above and they all hatched – see below the three fluffy chicks at one day old running around the roof. Wildlife in the centre of Pitlochry at its best!
